Ariella Kaeslin visits Longines Headquarters

watchmaker Longines was delighted to receive a visit from Ariella
Kaeslin, its new Ambassador of Elegance and high flyer during the
2009 international gymnastics season. This summer, Longines
announced that the newly crowned European Vault Champion and
silver medallist at the World Championships was to become its
latest brand ambassador. Ariella can currently be seen in the
international advertising campaign for the new Longines PrimaLuna

Shu Wai’s comeback depends on one condition

trying his luck again to represent Malaysia in international
events. And this time, he may just get his way.
Olympian Shu Wai has approached the National Sports Council (NSC)
to seek their support in his bid to make a comeback this year for
the Commonwealth Games (October) in India and Asian Games
(November) in Guangzhou.

Retton said the pressure athletes face today is much greater than
when she was competing in the 1980s.

amount of money they are paid compared to when she was named

Champion gymnast Nastia Liukin visits DMan's
World

Nastia Liukin won the all-around
gold medal at the Beijing Games last August and was part of the
United States team that won silver. She finished with five medals
around her neck, joining Mary Lou Retton and Shannon Miller as the
only American gymnasts to win five in one Games.

The Commonwealth Games Federation
has deemed recent comments as to security concerns in Delhi 2010
as ill informed and confirmed that, based on advice from its own
independent experts, security planning for the Games is on track.
CGF President, Michael Fennell, says that while security remains a
key issue for Delhi, the relevant Indian authorities are working
well to ensure a secure environment for the Games.

Mayor Aristotle Sandoval reportedly has considered the possibility
of the city withdrawing its bid for the 2014 Youth Olympic Games
because of the bid's weakness against its competitors Poznan
Poland and Nanjing China. Milenio in Mexico reported the Mayor
made it clear that a decision will be made soon as to whether
Guadalajara will withdraw its bid.

Nanjing gets best rating of 3 bids for Youth
Games

Today): The Chinese city of Nanjing
presents the least risk of the three candidates bidding for the
2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games, the IOC said Friday. The
International Olympic Committee released a report evaluating the
bids from Nanjing, Guadalajara, Mexico, and Poznan, Poland. The
IOC said Guadalajara and Poznan present "a number of risks" while
Nanjing offers "minimal risk."

Hiroshima, Nagasaki still interested in 2020

Today): Hiroshima and Nagasaki
haven't given up on co-hosting the 2020 Olympics, even though the
International Olympic Committee has cast doubt on their proposal.
Hiroshima mayor Tadatoshi Akiba and Nagasaki mayor Tomihisa Taue
will meet next week with former IOC vice president Chiharu Igaya
to seek his support for the joint bid by the two cities, site of
atomic bombings at the end of World War Two. >>
