Hubert BARTHOD

* fig-press--: Hubert Barthod, former member of the French Trampoline Team and scout for the Cirque du Soleil, died tragically on August 24, 2010 in Montreal (CAN), where he resided.
Barthod was in his 46th year!
Junior World Champion in Trampoline, Hubert Barthod spent 10 years at the top of the Trampoline hierarchy in France, taking the All-around national title on two occasions.
He performed with World Vice-Champion Lionel Pioline (FRA) as Trampoline Synchro’s famous tricolour pair in 1986, at the world championships in Paris (FRA).

The Founder and his Successor!

The world leader in Trampoline manufacturing, the German co. Eurotramp Trampoline - Kurt Hack GmbH in Weilheim (GER), celebrates the 50th anniversary of its founding on July 17, 2010.
It was the summer of 1960 when founder Kurt Hack, who died last year, finalised his project to manufacture high-quality trampoline equipment.

The third World Cup of the 2010 Circuit
After the first Trampoline World Cup event this year in April, the 7th Flanders Cup in Ghent (BEL), the traditional 46th Nissen Cup in Davos (SUI) and after the cancelled event in Lavallois (FRA) some of the world top stars started at the first weekend of July in the Polish city of Wroclaw, host city of the 2010Acrobatic Worlds (July 13 - 19) and the next year's European Trampoline Championships (2011, April 10 - 16).
Winner of the Olympic men's individual in the Orbita Hall of Wroclaw was Russia's Dimitri Ushakov (RUS) and on women's side the Uzbekian Anna Savkina (UZB).
Gregoire Pennes / Sebastien Martiny (FRA) and Carina Baumgaertner / Anna Dogonadze (GER) captured the gold medals in men's and women's synchronized trampoline.

Thursday, one day later than planned, the 22nd European Championships of Trampoline 2010 started with the double minitramp and tumbling events of women and finished at Saturday, April 24 in Varna, Bulgaria.
In the program were the Olympic disciplins Trampoline Individual, the Synchro, Tumbling and Double minitramp for women and men (elite), but also for juniors (20th Juniors' Europeans).
The schedule also included the qualification for the three best European male and femal juniors for the "1. Youth Olympic Games" in August this year.

Two German World Cup wins; ... a 3rd place Switzerland!

The Germans were happy about their successes at the first trampoline World Cup of the season 2010: After the trampoline winner Grègoire Pennes from France, Henrik Stehlik got a strong second place. In the womens, Jekaterina Chilko from Usbekistan beat the Russian top star Irina Karawajewa.
Both synchronised competitions were won by German couples:

George NISSEN * 1914, Feb 01 - 2010, Apr 07

+ George NISSEN, the originator of the modern trampoline, died 2010, April 7 at the age of 96 in San Diego, USA, from complications of pneumonia at UC San Diego Thornton Hospital in La Jolla.
Nissen also helped grow worldwide interest in the trampoline discipline through his exhibitions and travels. His dream of having trampoline in the Olympic Games became a reality at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.

From March 13 to 16 the 11th Asian Junior Championships 2010 of Artistic and Trampoline Gymnastics took place in Chiba, Japan.
Altogether 12 female and male gymnasts representing 16 nations took part at these events, which were also the official qualifications for the upcoming I. Olympic Youth Games, which will be held in August in Singapore.
At the Trampoline competition 13 male and 10 female gymnasts started at the preliminaries.
The top favourites were the Chinese and the Japanese gymnasts....

"Time of flight" voted new criteria
* fig-press--: After two years of research, the FIG Trampoline Gymnastics Technical Committee introduced time of flight as an additional objective criteria in Individual Trampoline judging.
Time of flight research was first presented at a Symposium held parallel to the 2009 World Championships in St Petersburg (RUS), where a clear majority vote by the federations present gave the go-ahead to implement the new criteria into the Code of Points (CoP).

The 26th WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS of TRAMPOLINE, TUMBLING and DOUBLE-MINITRAMP took place in St. Petersburg, Russia from 11th until 14th November.
The youngest of the Olympic disciplines, trampolining individual is in the spotlight, but also the non-Olympic disciplines like synchro, tumbling and the dynamic double-minitramp assured absolute top sports!
Nearly 270 participants representing 32 nations took part in St. Petersburg. The host country Russia had not only been the top nation in all the disciplines for a long time, but started with the biggest delegation of 23 athletes in all disciplines. Winning 7 gold medals at the last worlds 2007 in Quebec, Russia is on target for the same success at home...

Kurt HACK* 1930 - + 2009

The big international trampoline family greatly saddened to announce the death of Kurt HACK, founder of the family-owned enterprise Eurotramp Trampoline – Kurt Hack GmbH, a long-term partner of the FIG. Kurt Hack passed away after a long illness Thursday, November 5, at the age of 79.

Though Kurt Hack handed over the management of Eurotramp, the enterprise he founded in 1960 to his grandson a couple of years ago, he remained actively involved in the business until his death.

2007 title holder and 2008 Olympic Champion Lu Chunlong (CHN) won the Men’s Individual Trampoline Gold medal with a score of 42.400, placing just ahead of his compatriot Tu Xiao, and his satisfying 41.900 points. FIG World Ranking leader and winner of the World Cup in Sofia (BUL) Masaki Ito (JPN) settled for Bronze with 41.700 points.
2007 World Championships runner-up and winner of the 2008 World Cup Final Huang Shanshan (CHN) prevailed with a score of 39.600 in the Women’s Individual. Her team mate Zhong Xingping took home Silver with 38.900 while 2008 Olympic finalist from Canada Rosannagh MacLennan settled for Bronze (38.800).

The winners of the Olympic individual trampoline competition were the Olympic Champion (2009 Beijing) Lu Chunlong, beating the World cup winner DONG Dong and the 2007 world champion YE Shuai.
On women's side, Zhong Xingping get gold, in front of Olympic bronze medallist (2004) HUANG Shanshan and WANG Yun.

The 2009 Chinese Championships of Trampoline took place at the capital of the province Fujian, the city of Fuzhou from May 21 - 23.
Altogether 290 gymnasts representing 18 Chinese provincial teams took part at the Fuzhou Sports Center! The two local heroes, He Wenna and Ye Shuai (both from Fujian) won the titles of the both individual trampoline disciplines.

Once biennially since 1975, Aalsmeer, otherwise known as The Netherlands’ “Flower Capital of the World”, turns into a hub for elite international Trampoline gymnasts.
The small town just outside Amsterdam hosted the 18th edition of the prestigious “Flower Cup” on March 21, 2009 in the De Bloemhof Sports Hall.
