Soleil Returns to Seoul with 'Alegria'

Gets Set for the Glasgow Grand Prix
October 15, 2008 (International Gymnast):
Louis Smith's Beijing bronze and the
2012 Olympics have led to increased ticket sales for this
weekend's Glasgow Grand Prix. Glasgow, site of the World
Acrobatics Championships this past weekend, is gearing up for its
annual artistic World Cup. Ticket sales have risen, British
Gymnastics press liaison Vera Marinova-Atkinson told IG. This
year's edition of the annual competition features 91 gymnasts from
31 nations.

government cash released for London 2012 village
LONDON (GBR), October
15, 2008 (Reuters): The British
government released 95 million pounds ($167 million) of
contingency funds on Wednesday to keep work on the London 2012
athletes' village on track. Olympic chiefs warned last week the
credit crunch could result in a 250 million pound shortfall in the
public-private sector project. …
The government is also looking at moving the temporary badminton
and rhythmic gymnastics venue to a permanent site to save costs.
Badminton and rhythmic gymnastics, which was to be staged at a new
6,000-seat venue in Greenwich, south east London, may be moved to
the Wembley Arena in north west London, the BBC said on Wednesday.
