Decision about age of Chinese gymnasts Yang and Dong expected soon

February 26, 2010 (Examiner): Were Chinese gymnasts Yang Yun and Dong Fanxiao too young to compete at the 2000 Olympics? And if they were, what should be done about it? The International Gymnastics Federation's (FIG) executive committee is expected to issue a ruling today on whether Yang and Dong were old enough to compete at the 2000 Sydney Olympic Games.

Silver lining for Wan Nin despite missing the cut

February 26, 2010 (The Star): Young rhythmic gymnast Lee Wan Nin can still walk tall although she failed to make the cut as one of the three Asian representatives for the Olympic Youth Games in Singapore. The petite 15-year-old can be proud after achieving a breakthrough in the recent Moscow Grand Prix when she nailed two silver medals in the ball and clubs apparatus respectively.

Namibia gears up for African Gymnastics Championships

February 25, 2010 (Namibia Sport): Namibia will host the 10th Junior and Senior African Gymnastics Championships and the African Continental Games qualifiers for the 2010 Youth Olympics in Walvis Bay from 28 February 28 to 13 March. Charlie Tamayo: 'I had to trade my family for the chance at a better future'

February 23, 2010 (Examiner): Charlie Tamayo can do a standing double back. He can do a double twisting double back and a laid-out Arabian double front. He can do a quintuple front -- five full somersaults -- into a foam pit from a trampoline. What he can't do is compete for the Team USA, despite having lived in the United States for the past seven years. Chris Brooks added to American Cup lineup

February 23, 2010 (Examiner): Winter Cup champion Chris Brooks has been added to the 2010 American Cup lineup, replacing Tim McNeill, USA Gymnastics announced Tuesday. Lopez, Brooks Added to American Cup Field

Johnson injures knee while skiing

February 22, 2010 (Associated Press): Olympic gold medalist Shawn Johnson will be in a leg brace for six weeks and her training will be limited for six months after surgery on her left knee following a ski accident in Colorado.
