Prestigious Tyson American Cup Gymnastics seen in its entirety on NBC and Universal

Bui faces American Cup with confidence

February 16, 2009 (International Gymnast): Alternate on the 2008 German Olympic team, Kim Bui told IG she looks forward to Saturday's American Cup in Chicago as "good preparation" for other major events in 2009, including April's European Championships in Milan.
"After the last big competition last year I started to learn new acrobatic elements and connections for 2009," said Bui, who turned 20 on Jan. 20.

After 20 years

February 14, 2009 (Al Ahram): The championship, divided into men's and women's artistic and rhythmic events, in junior and senior categories, took place from 29 January to 5 February at the Cairo Stadium sport complex. The participating countries were Algeria, Cameroon, South Africa, Tunisia, Nigeria, Namibia, Libya, Senegal and Morocco, in addition to host nation Egypt.

Beaucoup ont participé aux Jeux Olympiques au vue de leur talent.

Azerbaijani gymnast to compete for gold in European Championship

IOC agrees European rights for 2014 and 2016 Olympics

February 18, 2009 (Sport Business International): The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced an agreement with the Sportfive agency for the broadcast rights to the 2014 Winter and 2016 Olympic Games.
Under the terms of the deal, Sportfive has the broadcast rights across all media platforms, including free-to-air television, subscription television, internet and mobile phone, across 40 countries in Europe (excluding France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Turkey and the United Kingdom).    >>

WADA Listens To Drug Testing Concerns

February 17, 2009 (The Sport Briefing): World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) director general David Howman has stated that “nothing is about to change” with regards to the body’s controversial new out-of-competition testing procedures. Howman spent “several hours” in talks in London with around nine national and international players’ associations. Many of them argued that the new “whereabouts” rules, imposed since January 1 under a revised WADA code to allow drug testers to track top athletes for tests, are an intrusion of privacy.

Dikshit Calls For Games To Bring Improved Image Of Delhi

February 17, 2009 (The Sport Briefing): Delhi's Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has urged tourism leaders to use the 2010 Commonwealth Games to improve the image of the Indian city. Tessa Jowell’s gender Olympics

February 15, 2009 (Times Online): Tessa Jowell, the Olympics minister, wants the 2012 Games to meet equality targets by allowing women to compete in heavyweight wrestling and men in synchronised swimming.
She has written to UK sports chiefs asking them to help end “gender discrepancies” in the Olympic and Paralympic rules, which allow men to compete in 40 more events than women.  >>
