Born, March 19,
as Erika Barth, in the little village of Luck/Breitenhain
near Leipzig, Thüringen boundary to Saxony. |

1959 |
Began gymnastics
at local sport school, age 12 in Leipzig |

1961 |
Entered boarding
sport school, age 14 |
|
1963 |
First international
competition: member of Sport Club Leipzig that competed
against Gymnastics Club Budapest in Hungary.
Became member of national team and performed in exhibition
in China |

1964 |
Competed
in the Soviet Union, Romania, and Bulgaria.
Became first person to perform flic- flac on the beam in
GDR Championship in Halle.
Qualified for Tokyo Olympic team but had to withdraw because
of injury.

1965-1969 |
Studies
in Institute for Teacher Training in Leipzig: subjects,
sport and music. |

1966 |
Marriage
with cyclist Dieter Zuchold. He was 17 years cyclist. 1963
he went world record in 4er team on the cycling track. 1966
he became Germany Champion. 1966 World Champion of the railwayman.
He went 1000 cycle race and wun 200 cycle race.
The profession of my husband was Public Relation Manager.
Now he is pensioner.
We are childless.
