Team qualifikation,
Thursday, 2nd day:
Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia - that's not a secret: This three nations are
the top trio in rtythmic gymnastics, also after the 4 rotations of teams's qualification.
Also the next following 5 nations are qualified ror the team final of 'top 8'.
- Spain (4)
- Germany (5)
- Bulgaria (6)
- host Japan (7) and
- Italy.
Please, have also a look to the all around qualifying

Abschluß der
Team-Qualifikation
Donnerstag, 2. Tag:
Russland vor Ukraine und Weissrussland ist eine durchaus erwartete
Reihenfolge bei der Team-Qualifikation. Auch die
qualifizierten 8 Mannschaften mit Spanien (4), Deutschland (5), Bulgarien (6), Japan (7)
und Italien (8) gehen in Ordnung, wenn sich auch überraschend Frankreich nicht
qualifizieren konnte.
Deutschlands beste Gymnastin Edita Schaufler
(Wattenscheid) kommt als Neunte natürlich locker ins Mehrkampffinale
- wie auch Lena Asmus (19.) und steht am
Sonntag 2x in den Gerätefinals (Reifen/Band), dabei gemeinsam
mit 4 (!) weiteren Gymnastinnen im Reifenfinale sogar mit dem zweithöchsten Vorwert -
also, alles scheint möglich...! |

19 OLYMPIC VISAS
DISTRIBUTED
19 of the 24 Rhythmic Gymnastics Olympic Visas for
Sydney 2000 have been defined at the end of the
qualifying round of these World Championships.
The five leading nations in the competition
will each send two gymnasts to participate in the 2000 Olympic
Games in Sydney. These are:
1. RUSSIA- 2. UKRAINE- 3. BELARUS- 4. SPAIN-
5. GERMANY
The next nine countries in the final ranking
of the
qualifying rounds of this World Championships will
also participate in Sydney with one individual gymnast
each. (Maximum two gymnasts per country, taking into
account the best three out of the four scores are taken
into consideration).
The five wild cards (one representative for
each
continent) will be designated by the FIG Rhythmic
Gymnastics Technical Committee in January. |

19 OLYMPIA-TICKETS
VERGEBEN
19 der 24 Olympia-Startplätze für Sydney 2000 sind definitiV nach Ende der ersten
Qualifikationsrunde dieser WM vergeben worden.
Die 5 führenden Nationen dieses Wettbewerbs
können je 2 Gymnastinnen zu den kommenden Olympischen Spielen entsenden,
das sind:
1.RUSSLAND, 2.UKRAINE, 3.WEISSRUSSLAND, 4.SPANIEN, 5.DEUTSCHLAND
Die nächsten 9 Länder dieser
Qualifikationsrunde erhalten 1 Startplatz für Sydney (max.2 Gymnastinnen
pro Land unter Berücksichtigung der besten 3 der 4 Übungsbewertungen).
Fünf weitere Wildcards (für jeden
Kontinen) werden durch das Technische Komittee der FIG im Januar vergeben. |

No
appenditicitis...!
After some crazy days for the German group, now it is shure: Frederike
Arlt , the girl from Rehlingen, has n o t appendicitis, she is
okeah now again, and the German team has made two perfectly training exercises, at the
ende of all prerarations and is ready for the take-off and all girls are hopeful looking
forward to its first start on Friday, as start No. 14, with the clubs exercise.

Blindarmreizung
abgeklungen:
Die helle Aufregung in der deutschen RSG-Gruppe der letzten Tage um die Blindarmreizung
von Frederike Arlt (Rehlingen) ist zum
Glück ebenso abgeklungen, wie auch das Problem selbst. Frederike geht es wieder bestens
und nachdem das Team in den Tagen zuvor einwenig neben sich selbst stand, lief das
Abschlußtraining hervorragend: Zwei sehr gute Trainingsdurchläufe stellten sowohl
Trainerin Nelli Dimitrowa vor Ort, als auch zu Hause die zuvor erkrankte verantwortliche
Trainerin Carmen Weber ebenso zufrieden, so daß mit Hoffnung dem ersten Auftritt,
der Keulenübung, am Freitag (Start.Nr. 14) entgegengeblickt werden kann. |

First results;
Wednesday,1st day:
The first '10,0' got the favourite of this World Championships in the morning of
the first competition day (Wednesday) - Alina Kabaeva
(RUS) for her first exercise (ball). Her main concurrent, Elena
Vitrichenko (UKR), the long time No.1 of World ranking list, got 9.95
(ribbon).
After the first day of competition (Wednesday and after 2 rotations Russia is on
top, second Belorussia and than Ukraine:

Erste Ergebnisse,
Mittwoch, 1. Tag:
Die erste 10,0 dieser Weltmeisterschaft erhielt am Morgen des ersten Wettkampftages
(Mittwoch) die Favoritin dieser Titelkämpfe, die Russin Alina
Kabajewa für ihre Ballübung. Ihre Hauptkonkurrentin und
Weltranglisten-Erste Jelena Witritschenko
(UKR) bekam die zweithöchste Benotung mit 9,95 (Band).
Nach Halbzeit des Mannschaftswettbewerbes führt Russland vor
Weissrussland, der Ukraine und dem Trio Schaufler/Asmus/Strobl aus Deutschland. Die 8
besten Teams erreichen das Team-Finale. |
