In
one hundred days – on Oct. 27th 2001, in the “Topsporthal
Flanderen“ the 35th World championships in artistic
gymnastics for men and women will start in the Belgian city Gent.
Janssen&Fritsen
are the owners of a modern gymnastics podium which has been specially
developed according to FIG-standards and on which it can be fully taken
advantage of the modern competition apparatus with their own
characteristics. Currently it is being prepared for use and transportation.
However,
the plans for a training on it which will be possible on October 22nd
are set since quite a while already and the logistics is prepared.
For
the dates October 31st, November 1st, November 2nd
Janssen&Fritsen
have planned seminars for coaches. During them top-coaches will present to
all interested coaches the most modern workout methods, apparatus and
additional equipment. (Speaker: Dieter Hofmann, Switzerland).
In
addition to this the changes which were decided by the FIG-council in
spring will be used for the first time. This will especially
improve the TV-suitability of the gymnastics competitions: The
warming-up for the finales won’t be on the podium anymore. It will take
place in a separate gym outside the competition arena. For this the
Belgian hosts Vlaamse Turnliga (VTL) and the official supplier Janssen&Fritsen
have enabled the most fascinating and modern opportunities with the new
gymnastics centre situated directly next to the competition gym: The
“Topgymanstiekhal“ will be the “warming-up arena“.
Only
8 instead of up to now 12 teams will take part in the team finale. The
teams consisting of 6 gymnasts will only show 3 routines per apparatus,
all 3 routines will count for the final score that means no scores will be
cancelled anymore.
