Short report about important points of the FIT Congress 1998

The main subject of course was the dissolution of the FIT for merger with FIG.

At the beginning of this point of the agenda the proposal of the British Federation was discussed, to change the agreement between FIG and FIT. I explained, that this now is not possible because the agreement is decided by the FIG Executive Committee after a long time of preparation and after many conferences with FIT representatives. The agreement and the amendments and interpretations to and of the Statutes and Technical Regulations also was accepted by the FIG General Assembly.

The last F.I.T. congress - Sydney on 6th October

It was voted on the British proposal. Yes: 2, No: 29, Abstention: 6

After this Ron Froehlich spoke about the reasons for merger with the FIG and then he gave the floor to me for explaining the new FIG structure and the possibilities for Trampoline Representatives to work in the different FIG Committees and Commissions.

Voting: Yes: 33, No: 4

The Assembly accepted Ron Fröhlich to be the Trampoline Representative in the FIG Executive Committee in 1999 and 2000 as well as the Technical President Horst Kunze.

Ron Froehlich was elected as Honorary FIT President, André Gueisbuhler as Honorary Vice President.
