On behalf of the International Gymnastics Federation I would like to
extend our appreciation to all the members of the Organizing Committee for their
preparations and work in carrying out these Championships. |

This has been the largest Championships
ever held. Without of the support of Government and particularly the City of Tianjin and
their partners and sponsors, this competition would not have been possible. The gymnastics
family is grateful for your support. And now my congratulation to all the gymnasts who
participated in this spectacle to give us all beautiful performances and memories. For the
last time in this millenium you have demonstrated again your excellent talents. The
qualification for the Olympic Games has been determined here and I wish you every success
for the next millenium and the Games in Sydney.We look forward to your performances again
in Belgium in 2001.
