VALADARES TROPHY

takes place on the 16th and 17th of June at Dr. Acácio Lello Pavilion (near the Bessa Stadium) 2000 European Champion and Bronze medallist at Olympic Games in Sydney – Alexander Beresch – brighten up the 2001 edition

 

Senior National Champion of Portugal – makes promises to repeat last year victory

On the next weekend, 16th and 17th of June, BOAVISTA F.C. realizes the
 XIII International Tournament of Men’s Artistic Gymnastics – Cerâmica Valadares Trophy, 
at Dr. Acácio Lello Pavilion (near Bessa Stadium). 
With increased reasons of interest, the Tournament count on with participation of 53 gymnasts from 12 countries – Austria, Germany, Great Britain, Holland, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, Ukraine, Venezuela and Wales – among of those gets evidence:

- the 2000 European Champion and Bronze medallist at Olympic Games in Sydney,
the Ukrainian Alexander Beresch;
- Alexander Svetlichni, his team mate and fifth at Olympics;
- Mitja Petkovsek, 2000 European Champion on Parallel Bars;
- Victor Cano of Spain;
- at National Level to detach the current National Champion and winner of the last edition of the tournament, Manuel Campos.
The 600 000 escudos (120 000 Euros) of prize–money constitute one misleading of the event.
