In 1993 FIG Vice President  Siegfried FISCHER (Brazil) made the first proposals for changes to the vaulting horse. The trigger for this was, among other things, injuries caused to athletes.

SPIETH was the first to take up this idea and posed the provocative question:

Will the gymnasts send their horses back to the stables?

.  dot.gif (54 Byte)  The creative combination of function and form produced the distinct design of the Ergojet vaulting table.

Far-reaching change of apparatus:

dot.gif (54 Byte)  Now it has become reality:
FIG, the world federation of gymnastics, has taken up the ideas of SPIETH and will introduce the new vaulting apparatus at the World Championships in 2001 (Ghent/Belgium). As a result of tests carried out at various training and Olympic centres, various specifications have been developed. On October 9th all leading producers of gymnastics apparatus were informed of these by the FIG  ( - see GYMnews)

Ergojet is not the only development in safer gymnastics apparatus prompted by SPIETH's innovative designs. The company SPIETH was the first to create further improvements in other apparatus, too: the modern asymmetric bars, the padded beam, the vaulting horse with suspension, the safety horizontal bar and various Reuther spring boards.

The new Ergojet vaulting table has been created by SPIETH with the same care and attention to detail as has been its hallmark in the design of many other gymnastics apparatus in the past.

“SPIETH-MILLENIUMS-VAULT“ , who will be the first athlete in the world to show a vault of maximum difficulty over the new vaulting apparatus „ERGOJET“ in gymnastics history
