PREVIEW: 10th International ZAG-Junior-Cup 2024

With the support of its new sponsor Cosmopolitan Aesthetics, the 10th International ZAG Junior Cup will be held in Hanover on June 01/02.
The German Premier League club TuS Vinnhorst, in cooperation with the Lower Saxony Gymnastics Federation (NTB), will be hosting the now well-established international competition for young gymnasts aged 10 to 16 for the tenth time this year. For the third time, it will take place in the newly built Vinnhorst Sports Centre, nearby Hanover which offers a great atmosphere for this gymnastics competition with its 700 seats.
Numerous gymnasts from other European countries, from the most important gymnastics centres in Germany and, of course, from Lower Saxony have already registered to take part.

In addition to three teams from the Netherlands with the junior national gymnasts in these age groups, there will also be 10 gymnasts from Ireland, the country of the reigning pommel horse world champion Rhys McClenaghan. And Marius Urzica Junior, the highly talented son of multiple pommel horse world champion and Olympic champion Marius Urzica from Romania, will also be back and will be aiming to stand on the winners' podium again. It will be interesting to see who else joins them.

♦ The team competition is organised in 4-4-3 mode, which means that all four gymnasts in the team compete on all apparatus and the best three scores are included in the team result. What is special, however, is that all gymnasts in a team compete together, regardless of age, and there is a bonus for the younger gymnasts to make the battle for the € 600 prize money fairer.
♦ An all-around competition will be held at the same time and the best 8 gymnasts in each age group will compete for the titles and medals on the apparatus on Sunday morning.
