Johanna Quaas, Minister President Haseloff |
Germany's Minister President of Saxony-Anhalt, His Excellency Dr. Reiner HASELOFF, was visibly impressed when he presented Johanna QUAAS' excitingly diverse and impressive 98-year life in Magdeburg's "Palais am Fuerstenwall" in the State Chancellery ballroom. At the presentation of the "Federal Cross of Merit on Ribbon" on behalf of Germany's Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, he described in his laudatory speech the path of a lively little gymnastics girl in her father's garden, through the sports student in difficult post-war times, the successful German handball champion in her home team of the fifties and the consistent path as a sports teacher and university pedagogue in Halle, as a coach of the local gymnastics club of Olympic participants, until she later found her professional fulfilment in her beloved sport of gymnastics, above all as a trainer, and until recently supervised a senior women's group.
The whole world now knows this extraordinary senior athlete Johanna Quaas, at least since her entry as the "oldest competitive gymnast in the world" in the Guinness Bock of World Records ...
