The 2019 Tokyo World Cup is the final of four events in the 2019 FIG Artistic Gymnastics All-around World Cup series, and follows the American Cup in Greensboro (USA) on 2 March, the World Cup in Stuttgart (GER) on 16-17 March, and the World Cup in Birmingham (GBR) on 23 March.
The top eight teams from the 2018 World Championships received priority invitations to the event. The field for each event involves eight male and eight female gymnasts chosen by the participating federations, plus one optional ‘wildcard’ gymnast each from the host federation.
Gymnasts collect points for the 2019 World Ranking lists that will determine the winning federations, and the results of all four events count towards the final ranking.
♦ Participants:
♦ Prize money of a total of CHF116,000–124,000 is at stake in each leg of the series, with the FIG paying an additional CHF100,000 to the overall top three-ranked gymnasts – male and female – at the end of the series.
* GYMmedia will publish more information after the end of the competition!

♦♦ Women: Simone BILES indomitable!
With a score of 58,800 won the world sportswoman of the year Simone BILES (USA), as expected, undisputedly the second A-World Cup of the year.
However, she had to be beaten by the only 16-year-old Vice World Champion on balance beam, the Canadian Anne-Marie PADURARIU on top of three apparatus and with a top score of 15.400 (vault) gymnast ranked 2 in the World Cup all-round (55,132).
At eye level on at least three apparatus, Germany's Elisabeth SEITZ occupies 3rd place (54,399) and only showed deficits in content on the uneven bars. The complete World Championship medal trio on the uneven bars of Doha (2018) ensured a spectacular, sporting highlight in Stuttgart in the Porsche Arena! This time the WCh Vice Biles, before the third placed Seitz, and then the bars World Champion Mustafina - worth seeing!
Behind France's Lorette Charpy, Olympic champion Aliia Mustafina (RUS) finished fifth, losing a podium position mainly due to an unstable and crash-prone beam practice. Behind the Japanese Hitomi Hatakeda Stuttgart's Kim Bui was seventh of the nine starters.
