Commonwealth Games: Host Australia most successfull

Aussie's Balance: 6-6-6 ...Gold, Silver, Bronze...!
 Australian Joshua Jefferis has won gold for Australia in the Men’s All-Around Artistic Gymnastics final at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne with an overall score of 89.45. Canadian Nathan Gafuik won the silver and Australian Philippe Rizzo secured the bronze. Rizzo and Jefferis are both members of the Men’s Team that won silver behind Canada on the first day of the competition.
Not Olympic Champion Shewfelt but another Canadian won the gold medail on floor: Adam Wong - Shewfelt captured gold on vault ...
Australia's Chloe Sims has won gold in the Women's All-Around Final at the Gymnastics with an extraordinary finish. Canada's Elyse Hopfner Hibbs (gold at uneven bars and beam) achieved the same score as Chloe of 57.100 but had to settle for silver as judges deemed a tie was against the rules....

Gold for Australian Women's Team
Strong performances on the beam and the vault helped the Australian gymnasts secure the Women's Team gold medal ahead of England and Canada.
The Australians scored 172.600 points to win by 8.250 points from England, which was without its injured captain, Beth Tweddle.
Australian captain, Monette Russo, competed with an ankle injury, but produced a particularly strong routine.
The Australian team included Hollie Dykes in her first senior international competition performance, with the best score of 58,550.
'I think it's very exciting especially for my first comp, ' she said afterwards.
'It was really exciting, it just lifted me.'
Canada won the bronze medal with 162.550 points....

Canadian Men's Team

Gold for Canadian Men's Team

Canada broke a 12-year gold-medal drought in men's team artistic gymnastics at the Commonwealth Games on Thursday in Melbourne, beating Australia and defending champion England in the final.
<< Canada - with Kyle Shewfelt, Adam Wong, Nathan Gafuik and Grant Golding, all of Calgary, and David Kikuchi of Halifax - won the event with a total of 269.750 points, followed by Australia (268.850) and England (260.000)....


It was Canada's first men's team gold medal since a home victory in 1994 in Victoria. The Canadians also won Commonwealth Games gold in 1978 and 1990.
Kyle Shewfelt (23), scored a competition-high 16.600 on vault, performing his trademark Yurchenko layout 2 1-2, and a Tsukahara layout double-twist. The 2004 Athens Olympic champion also registered the best score on the floor.
The Australians got off to a bad start with their two most-experienced competitors, Philippe Rizzo and Damian Istria, falling from the high bar and on their floor routines...
