Australian Youth Olympic Festival 2005

Australia's Chloe SIMS was the most successful gymnast of the Australian Youth Olympic Festival (AYOF), wich was held from January the 19th to 23rd.
SIMS and her teammate Holly DYKES placed first and second, followed by the tw Chinese girls HUANG, Lu and HANG, Bin In the team competition held Thursday already the Chinese won in front of the team 'A' of the host Australia.
In the men's all-around, GOU, Weiyang and WANG, Heng finished first and second. Thomas PICHLER of Australia was the bronze medallist. China also won the men's team title....
AOC President John Coates (AUS) singled out the Chinese team, which almost matched the host nations medal tally despite sending a vastly smaller team: "In gymnastics, people tell me that the Chinese athletes in the artistic gymnastics for the girls will probably be the makeup of their team in Beijing,” Coates said.
