Final Day in Sofia: Gold Medal for Romanian Group

The Romanian Sextett:
World Champion 2004!

At the third and also the last day of the 8th Sports Aerobics World Championships in Sofia titleholder Romania won the group category. Madalina Cioveie, Aurelia Ciurea, Cristina Marin, Daniela Nicolai, Tania Mihaela Pohoata and Mirela Rusu got the gold medal with a score of 20,382 points, followed by groups 'Russia 2' and 'China 2'.

The Romanian Sexttett showed a great performance with original Romanian music in high synchronization, difficulty and artistic moves.

Russian group at second place with an attractive Can-Can-Show. The Chinese - only men - was very interesting to watch, not only for the difficulties on the floor.

The six femal German Group from Ulm participated for the first time in an Aerobic World Championship and ended at place 16 aut of 18 groups.

These World Championships were a very succesfull, atmospheric and very well organized event in the capital of Bulgaria. Important guests were: president of FIG and member of IOC Prof. Bruno Grandi, Bulgaria´s president Georgy Parvano and president of the Bulgarian Gymnastics Federation Nicola Prodanov.

Galina Lazarova (Bulgaria) was announced 'Miss World Championships 2004' by the journalists. She has ended her aerobic career with this tournament.
