Kanukai Jackson: The British champion presents a clean routine which, among other elements, included double summersault picked backwards between the bars, Diamidov and as dismount a double summersault bw. picked.

Jordan Yovchev: In his third final after floor and rings Yochev presents various difficult elements including 2 double summersaults. His dismount also is double summersault bw. picked.

David Kikuchi: This is his first spot in a final in Cottbus this year. The Canadian Kikuchi shows handstand -double summersault bw. tucked. He presents a clean routine until he comes to the dismount. On the double summersault bw. tucked he has to touch the floor with his hands.

Yann Chucherat: The gymnast from the strong gymnastics nation France presents in his routine Tippelt with 1/1 twist, double summersault bw., Tippelt in a split position and double summersault bw. picked – dismount with only slight difficulties on the landing.

Philippe Rizzo: In his routine he shows 2 Tippelts, a clean handstand – double summersault bw. and a double summersault picked as dismount. On that he unfortunately has to make a few steps.

Mitja Petkovsek: He is for the 5th time in Cottbus and has always reached the final on bars. His routine includes a giant 1/1 twist, a high summersault landed on the bar and a double summersault picked dismount. A few of his elements have been presented with problems.

Dimitri Karbonenko: He shows us a clean routine with handstand – double summersault bw. landed with his arms on the bars, another double summersault bw. and also a double summersault bw. picked as dismount.

Ivan Ivankov: The Vice-World champion in the all-around last year presents here in his routine giant ½ turn into handstand, handstand - double summersault bw. tucked, dismount: double summersault bw. picked.

Dimitri Nonin: The 23-year-old from Berlin takes part in his first competition after a long break due to injury. It is visible that he still has conditional problems. He has several major mistakes during his routines and also has to take a few steps on his double summersault bw. tucked dismount.

Kanukai Jackson (GBR) opent de finale met onder meer een dubbel gehoekte salto, een kip dwars op een ligger en sluit af met de traditionele dubbel gehoekte salto.

Jordan Jovtchev (BUL) begint met een hoeksteun, maakt dan een handstand gevolgd door een stut tot handstand, een dubbele salto achterover, nog een keer maar dan vanuit steun om te besluiten met een dubbel gehoekte als afsprong.

David Kikuchi (CAN) is een nieuweling in de WC-finales. Vasnuit de handstand maakt hij een stut tot handstand, komt met een dubbel gehurkte salto achterover en heeft daarna moeite om weer in handstand te komen. Bij de afsprong, jawel, de dubbel gehoekte, landt hij op handen en voeten

Yann Cucherat (FRA), de 22-jarige Frans kampioen, begint met een achteropzet tot handstand. Na een Tippelt, dubbel gehurkte salto voorover en een ¼ draai op een ligger, komt ook voor hem de dubbel gehoekte als afsluiting. In de winners final levert het hem de zege op.

Philippe Rizzo (AUS) begint zoals zijn voorganger ook met een achteropzet tot handstand. Na een fraaie hele draaim over een arm volgt een Tippelt, een dubbel gehurkte salto achterover en een dubbel gehoekte salto om af te sluiten.

Mitja Petkovsek (SLO) heeft met zijn Europese titel een naam hoog te houden. Het lukt hem niet helemaal, ondanks zijn stut halve draai tot handstand, een zijwaarts kip, hoge spreidsalto voorover en een dubbel gehoekte uit haalt hij de winners final niet.

Dimitri Karbanenko (FRA) turnt de derde van de in totaal vier finales waarvoor hij zich tijdens dit toernooi plaatste. Na een zijwaartse kip komt een stut tot handstand, een dubbel salto rugwaarts vanuit handstand en even later draait hij opnieuw twee keer om de breedteas achterover. Sluit af met dubbel gehoekte salto.

Ivan Ivankov (BLR) neemt voor de tiende maal in Cottbus deel. Begint deze finale met een niet feilloos uitgevoerde stut halve draai. Dan komt een dubbel salto vanuit handstand en het slot is ook voor hem de dubbel gehoekte salto. Het brengt hem naar de winners final.

Dimitri Nonin (GER) is met een wildcard in de finale gekomen. Hij begint goed met onder meer een Healy, maar moet de hulp van de tegenover liggende ligger inroepen wanneer hij een zijwaartse kip maakt.

30 Teilnehmer stellten sich der Qualifikation, kein deutscher Turner steht im Finale. Nicht unerwartet setzte sich Barren-Spezialist Mitja Petkovsek (Slowenien) an die Spitze, während Mitfavorit und Landsmann Aljaz Pegan bei sder Stützkehre mit halber Drehung vom Barren musste und nicht im Finale steht.

Überraschend die Leistung des Franzosen Yann Cucherat, der ein interessantes Ausschultern zeigte.
"Einheitsabgang" ist nach wie vor der gebückte Doppelsalto rückwärts.

Altmeister Iwan Iwankow zeigte eine technisch routinierte, stabile Leistung und geht als Dritter in das Finale am Sonntag.

Christina Berczes, wie Dimitri Nonin außer Konkurrenz turnend, mit interessanter Übungszusammenstellung - z.B. Tippelt mit Salto vorwärts.

30 participants have taken part in this qualification, no German gymnast has reached the final. As expected bars-specialist Mitja Petkovsek (Slovenia) has taken the lead, whereas his fellow gymnast from Slovenia Aliaz Pegan fell from the apparatus and has not reached the final.
Surprising has been the performance of France’s Yann Cucherat who has shown interesting elements. The dismount performed by most gymnasts has been – as usual – picked double summersault backwards.
Ivan Ivankov has shown a technically solid routine and has reached the final on the 3^rd position.
Christian Berczes, who like Dimitri Nonin has taken part non-competitive, has presented an interesting routine including e.g. Tippelt with summersault fw. .

Marten Holtrop besluit zijn wedstrijd aan de brug. Direct nadat de Sloveen Aljaz Pegan, die alleen voor brug en rek had ingeschreven, zijn voortijdig onderbroken oefening had afgesloten, moest de Nederlander aan de bak. Na de achteropzet tot handstand heeft hij even moeite met de draaien maar sluit daarna af met de gehoekte salto. Hij komt daarmee echter net niet aan de acht punten (7.925).

Tussen zijn optreden aan het rek en dat aan de brug zat niet zoveel tijd. Nauwelijks tien minuten later moet Herre Zonderland alweer het achterste van zijn tong laten zien. Hij komt, na onder meer een Diamidow, uit op een score van 8.112.
Jeroen Hardon valt de eer te beurt om als laatste turner de kwalificatieronde van dit toernooi op de brug af te sluiten. Na bijna acht uur in de weer te zijn geweest gaat het moeizaam. De achterwaartse salto als afsprong is voor hem de verlossing. Met de 8.300 die hij van de 8.8 nog overhoudt mag hij niet ontevreden zijn.
