PART II:

“The basics of athletics and sports are important but you have to be able to use these abilities in an artistic and creative way!”

With these words the character of the world-wide castings is described by Fabrice Becker who is the talents scout of Cirque. And during the Berlin audition he asked for some unusual actions of the applicants…

One of the last castings in Europe was held in the German capital Berlin.  Also some World Stars of Artistic Gymnastics were among the candidates...:

... the dragon!

...
...but then there were the first unusual exercises:

Zoltan Supola (right) was not asked to do a double summersault, no… he was asked to act like a clown – not easy for a man who is used to follow the exact rules of elements to be used in gymnastics.

..his former team mate Miklos Hajdu (photo on the left) acted as a dangerous, fire-spitting   dragon – not an easy task if you want to be convincing with the language of your body!

For the adventure
Forever in search of new talent for its productions, Cirque du Soleil organizes acrobatic auditions worldwide. Cirque du Soleil is looking for top- level athletes with a background in acrobatics, circus arts, gymnastics, synchronized swimming, diving, acrosport, trampoline, tumbling, and extreme sports.

At auditions, athletic performance and artistic potential are assessed while paying special attention to the individual's personality. Performers chosen at these auditions become potential candidates for future productions or stand-ins for current shows.

...when he was asked by Fabrice Becker to sing a Hungarian folk song – of course quite loud – he had quite a perplex expression on his face…(right)!

Miklos Pancel ....as a frog

Never before the Hungarian top athlete has started a floor exercise on such way!
