and also the scene for the big show down in the Olympic year 2000:

WORLD CUP FINAL 2000, December, the 8th

Marius Urzica / ROM, one of the specialists:
He got his 5^th victory on pommel horse in this World Cup series,

Russia:
The most successful team, not only in this World Cup circuit 1999/2000:

The Russian women allone got 16 victories - from the 1st World Cup in Pusan, to now, the 8th in Glasgow

Also very satisfied:
Russian President and chief coach
Leonid Arkaev, the most successful coach of the world,

and Elena Produnova, his most successful gymnast in Glasgow: Winner on vault and floor,
and before:
1st in: Pusan (vault), Glasgow '99 (floor)
Zurich (beam), Cottbus 2000 (floor)
-  a top favourite for Olympic gold !!

... before..

... and after than - happy - because she crashed at uneven bars, some minutes before...
Svetlana Khorkina won her 7th WC title in this series  and is the most succesful women up to now!

... but attention:   

Alexei Nemov - the Men's Number One of GYMmedia World Ranking is in a very good form at the beginning of the Olympic season, after he submitted to shoulder operation:

The current World Champion was also the winner on floor in Glasgow,

and before in Stuttgart, Zurich, Montreau, too and he beat Urzica on pommel horse to the World Championships and in Zurich on this apparatus!

Szilvester Csollany/HUN..

.. is working hard for his dream:
Olympic Gold in Sydney

.... and Jordan Jovtchev/BUL, on third place here in Glasgow, but a top Olympic favourite on a lot of apparatuses!

seond place on rings, but two times winner on bars and  high bar in Glasgow, after his success on rings and his triumph about the specialist Csollany in the "Duel" of Montreux in March 2000!
