At the third women's world championships 1950 in Basel the most successful woman came from Poland. Helena Rakoci got not only the first balance beam title, but also the gold medals all around, on vault, and floor, and sho won silver on bars.

The most successful nation on beam is Romania: from Nadia Comaneci 1976 to Andreea Raducan 2001 in Ghent the Romanian gymnasts won 7 gold medals, the URS and also the USA won five titles.
Specially on beam the Chinese gymnastics is going forward with the titleholder FAN, Ye.
but 2005 strong American gymnasts got gold and silver, LIUKIN and MEMMEL ... Liukin again in 2007 Stuttgart and 2006 Irina KRANSNYANSKA got the first gold for Ukraine.
Chinese Deng, Linlin won gold in 2009 after a break of six years ..Nine years after Andreea Raducan there was in 2010 by Ana Porgras again a Romanian victory and even after 17 years (D. Kotchetkova, 1996) went gold by Aliya Mustafina once again to Russia.
Simone BILES (USA)
was now the successfully defending champion in Glasgow in 2015.
Pauline Schaefer earned a big success for Germani: 36 Jahre nach Maxi Gnauck in Moscow she won the first gold for the unit Germany - the same success with Gold (Erika Zuchold) and Bronze (Christine Schmitt) in 1970 in Lubbljana, the WCh Youngster Tabea Alt won one more Medal for Germany, the Bronze!! And since 2011 - after 7 years later in Doha - won China its next Gold again!
Next gold on Beam for Simone BILES 2019 in Stuttgart - her third titel on this apparatus in front of China's titleholder LIU, Tingting ...
To the very first time 2021 in Kitakyushu a Jabanes Gymnast won on beam a gold medal: Urara ASHIKAWA , and 2022 in Liverpool the beam seems to remain in Japanese hands: Hazuki WATANABE wins - the best Chinese only on rank 6!
