Sessina new Queen of 'MTM Narodni Dom Tournament'
GYM family Event 2006

Vera Sessina in Ljubljana
Russian star Vera Sessina was the best gymnast of 19th International MTM Tournament Narodni Dom for the City of Ljubljana Prize, where 73 gymnasts from 18 countries gathered to show their performances. Sessina showed exceptional routines and respectively won 5 gold medals. Svetlana Rudalova from Belarus got silver, Dinara Guimatova from Azerbaijan was third. Slovenian national champion Tjaša Šeme was fourth in front of Italian Beatrice Zancanaro.

Sessina was by far the best gymnast of 19th MTM and followed a successful Russian tradition in Ljubljana. She succeeded last year's winner World Champion Olga Kapranova. "I am satisfied with my performances and I hope that also the audience enjoyed my routines," said the winner after her amazing performance.

Slovenian champion Tjaša Šeme finished just behind the podium, on fourth place.....

Slovenian champion Tjaša Šeme said:
"I am happy, that I was able to go through my routines, because my injury is still not well, but I didn't want to miss performing in front of home crowd!
It was amazing! I hope that the organisers are happy as well, because I know how hard they work each year to bring some of the World's best gymnasts to Ljubljana."

The prestigeous D'Villena Prize for the most likable gymnast went in the hands of Florine Dally from France.

Juniors Category
Zeynab Javadli from Azerbaijan was the best in the junior category, Slovenian Lea Golar was second, Marina Fernandez from Spain took the bronze in front of another home-favourite Ajda Mujdžič, who made some mistakes.

There was no doubt about the winner among cadettes, since Natalia Garcia from Spain was by far the best gymnast. She won comfortably in front of Slovenian Tinkara Remic and Catarina Lopes from Portugal.

Among the youngest competitors - girls - all the medals stayed home:
Sara Kragulj won in front of Anna Vidovič and Manca Marcelan.
"It was my first time at MTM Narodni dom tournament and all I can say is: I am impressed. Also with the performances of the World' s elite as well as with Slovenian gymnasts. I am well aware that organising such a big event is hard work, but the organisers did a great job," told us the president of Slovenian Gymnastics Federation Klemen Bedenik, who gave away the prizes together with World Champion from Melbourne 2005 in artistic gymnastics Aljaž Pegan.
