Russian Group with two final gold medals
The eight best groups from yesterday´s qualification competed today at the apparatus finals.
* Final with five hoops
In the first final, with five hoops, the Russian group won the gold medal scoring 27.975 points, only 0.100 points ahead of Italy (27.875 points).
The bronze medal went to the Bulgarian group that did a faultless, risky and well-choreographed routine that brought them 27.100 points and the first medal for the Bulgarian team at this year´s world championships.
Like yesterday, the Israeli group placed fourth, followed by the German gymnasts on a fantastic fifth rank, followed by Japan, Belarus and Azerbaijan.
The girls from Belarus had bad luck in their hoop routine- a hoop went out of the carpet after a catch and destroyed their medal hopes...

The Russian Group wanted the title... but was not without mistakes
This afternoon, 29 groups from Australia to Venezuela, competed at the group all-around competition of these year´s world championships, showing each of them two exercises, one with five hoops and a second one with three ribbons and two ropes. The all-around final finished with a big surprise in Moscow: The Italian group is the old and new World Champion again! They repeat their success from last year and won gold for the second time in a raw. On second place came the group from Belarus and on third the local Russians who had a big drop during the hoop exercise where one of the apparatuses went out of the carpet...

Evgenia Kanaeva - relieved after winning the all-around
After Evgenia Kanaeva, called „Zhenetshka“ by the Russian headcoach, finished her last routine it´s official: She´s the old and new World Champion! Congratulations, Zhenya!
Kanaeva won the gold medal with 116.250 points - ahead of her teammate Daria Kondakovaand Melitina Staniouta and from Belarus. Without a medal in this all-around stays the fourth ranked Azeri gymnast Aliya Garaeva, only 0,050 points behind the medal places – a difference between these two gymnasts that is imperceptible to non-judges eyes. The best Western-European gymnasts were Delphine Ledoux (FRA) on 13th rank, Caroline Weber (AUT) on 15th, Julietta Cantaluppi (ITA) on 16th and Carolina Rodríguez (ESP) on 17th.

* Day 4 Team All-Around and last two Finals After the fourth and last rotation Russia is definitely the old and new world champion. Evgenia Kanaeva, Daria Kondakova, Daria Dimitrieva and Yana Lukonina won with 284,925 points ahead of Belarus and Azerbaijan. The gymnasts from the Ukraine have to return home without a medal in the team competition for the second time in a raw. On fifth place came the Israeli team, followed by Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Poland, Italy and Austria.

After two days of podium trainings, on Monday started the team competition at Moscow´s Olimpiyski Indoor Arena. 148 gymnasts representing 50 countries showed during the morning and the afternoon session either their rope and hoop exercises to the judges and the audience. The team competition, where every country is allowed to send a maximum of 4 gymnasts doing a total amount of 12 exercises, is at the same time a qualifying competition for the individual gymnasts, for the apparatus finals tomorrow and on Thursday as well as for the individual all-around on Friday for the best 24 only.
A lttle surprise was the gold medal of Daria Kondakova with the rope in front of titleholder Evegenia Kanaeva, who won the title with the rope .....
