In February 1999 Mr. Ernest John Rohr from South Holland, Chicago/Illinois (USA) found the Internetservice of GYMmedia 'GYMworld - The World of Gymnastics' and he saw the web site of his Great-, Great-, Great-, Grandfather, Friedrich Ludwig Jahn.
He E-mailed to GYMmedia Berlin - and a half year later he got an invitation from the European GYM online Agency GYMmedia Berlin, to visit the historical places of his famous ancastor.
The high light of the first day in Freyburg was the opening of the reconstructed Jahn museum ....

Im Februar 1999 fand Ernest John Rohr aus South Holland , Chicago/Illinois (USA) die Website von GYMmedia 'GYMworld - The World of Gymnastics'
und auch die Seiten über den Turnvater Friedrich Ludwig Jahn zu dessen 220.Geburtstag, schickte eine E-Mail und ....
...ein halbes Jahr später besuchte er auf Einladung der Europäischen GYM Online Agentur GYMmedia Berlin die historischen Plätze seines weltberühmten Vorfahren.
Höhepunkt des ersten Tages war die Wiedereröffnung des Jahnmuseums mit einer völlig neuen Ausstellung....

WELCOME
In front of Jahn's living house, the Jahn Museum now, Prof. Jochen Bartmuss, Chairman of the Jahn Society and the Mayor of Freyburg, Mr. Martin Bertling welcome the Great-, Great-, Great grandson of Friedrich Ludwig Jahn, Mr. Ernest John Rohr and his wife Kellee Ann from Chicago (USA).

Der Vorsitzende des Jahnvereins und Freyburgs Bürgermeister begrüßen Ernest J. Rohr und seine Gattin Kellee Ann aus Chikago (USA) vor dem früheren Jahn-Wohnhaus, dem heutigen Jahn-Museum in der Schloßstraße.

FAMILY TREE
The family tree of Friedrich Ludwig Jahn is more than 1 yard long (1 meter).
Ernest John Rohr in discussion with the Great-, Great-, Great Grandaughter Sigrid Burchard (from Werne/Germany) - from the direct line of Jahn's daughter. Both meet together for the first time in their lives.

STAMMBAUM
Der Jahnsche Stammbaum ist weit über 1 Meter lang. Ernest John im Gespräch mit einer weiteren Ur-, Ur-, Urenkelin des Turnvaters aus der Linie seiner Tochter, Frau Sigrid Burchard, aus Werne (Deutschland) . Beide trafen sich hier in Freyburg erstmals in ihrem Leben.

OLYMPIC AND WORLD STARS
Together with Erika Zuchold - World Champion on Beam 1970, Olympic Silver medalist 1972 and first woman, who jumped the flic flac on Beam 1963 and
Klaus Koeste - Olympic Champion (vault 1972, Munich) in front of the Jahn hall of Honor.

OLMPISCHE UND WELTSTARS
Zusammen vor der Jahnehrenhalle mit Ex-Weltmeisterin Erika Zuchold (Balken 1970) - der Frau, die 1963 den ersten Flick Flack der Welt auf em Balken sprang und mit Olympiasieger Klaus Köste (Spung, 1972, München).

REBUILT AGAIN
The wonderful front of the historical Jahn gymnastic hall, which was reconstructed this summer, together with the
gym stars and the Mayor of Freyburg, Mr. Martin Bertling.

REKONSTRUIERT
Erst wenige Wochen vor dem 77. Jahnturnen 1999 wurden die Rekonstruktionsmaßnahmen dieser wundervollen historischen Turnhalle (Schulbetrieb) abgeschlossen.
Treff mit den GYMstars und mit Bürgermeister Martin Bertling.

OF COURSE 'ROTKAEPPCHEN'
The guests from America were very impressed - not only about the special Freyburg champaigne 'Rotkaeppchen',
but also from the atmosphere in the cellars and the thousands of old bottles.

NATÜRLICH "ROTKÄPPCHEN"
Mit Kennermiene verkostet hier Ernest John Rohr den guten "Rotkäppchen-Sekt" und war sehr von der besonderen Atmosphaere in den Kellern der berühmten Sektkellerei mit ihren tausenden Flaschen beeindruckt!
