Springboard ‘Kreon’® - Ref. 1411160

This new high quality JF product is FIG certified and is fitted with the revolutionary Whisper Spring System® (WSS). The ‘Kreon’® board is the HARD version according to the new FIG apparatus norms on springboards.

This highly innovative model will be one of the boards available for the gymnasts at the Olympics 2004 in Athens, Greece.

The exact setting of the pyramid shaped hardened chrome silicon steel springs allows for vaults with an exactly defined rebound on each place of the surface of this board. For lighter gymnasts or backward vaults there is also a soft version available. Both boards are remarkably silent.

Technical data :

  • FIG certified, according to the new apparatus norms November 2003, springboard HARD version. Modern carbon fibre hybrid sandwich, multi-layer, spring surface.
  • Burgundy red, felt carpet cover, with a white dot, cushioned by 2 cm polypress 240 high density foam.
  • 8 red, fixed, pyramid shaped, heavy duty, hardened chrome silicon steel springs, Fitted with the “Whisper Spring System”® (WSS), noise lower than most conventional coil springboards.
  • Base: multi-layer pressed birch wood with non marking rubber feet.
  • Ideal for body weight over 55 kg and/or run-up speed over 7 m/s.

This versatile HARD springboard combines the feel of the traditional wooden springboards with the rebound properties and the long lifetime generated by the use of state of the art technology.

The scientifically optimised surface rebound from the precisely calculated springs is being transported directly to an ultrathin spring surface. The Carbon fibre hybrid layer makes the spring surface extremely strong with a low own mass.

Practically all energy that is put into the board by the gymnast jumping on it, is fed back almost instantly to the gymnast. There is no steel coil springboard available with a lower noise production than the ‘Kreon’.

The HARD board ‘Kreon’® has been designed for vaults by gymnasts with a body weight over 55 kg and/or a run-up speed over 7 m/s. The board also suits for heavy gymnasts doing a round-off vault.
The precise setting of the springs in combination with the low mass carbon fibre hybrid spring surface makes readjusting springs for each individual superfluous. The precise engineering of the Whisper Spring System® (WSS) makes this a very low noise board, with an almost 90% energy return. A challenge for anyone to try and improve on.
