WELCOME to EUROPE!
The Dutch company Janssen - Fritsen, "Official Supplier of the Olympic Games Athens 2004", which also supplied the gymnastic equipment of the 25th European Championships was the host. In the showroom, the representatives of the 10 countries that on the 1st of May became a member of the European Community, came together.
<< During his opening speech, company director Jacques Janssen welcomed every country representative present at the European Championships Women (- except for Estonia and Malta), leading representatives of the European top countries in gymnastics as well as the President of the UEG Dimitrios Dimitropoulos.

... for every gymnastic federation of the new EU-member countries, Janssen-Fritsen donated a new springboard ("Kreon" bzw. "Iris" as welcoming gift

Jacques Janssen and UEG President Dimitrios Dimitropoulos emphasised in their own words the historical meaning of this day, that at the same time has to stimulate to build up a relationships between each other and to continue this in sport as well for the realisation of the international relationships.

In this way the gymnastic federations of the 10 new EC-countries have been welcomed by GYMmedia-director Eckhard Herholz as the first “Members of this "GYMfamily".
On the proposal of Janssen-Fritsen also the three most successful countries of the European Championships – Romania, Russia and Ukraine – were offered this membership, with the invitation to realise an attractive and functional popularisation by exchanging information and facts.
